ABOUT THE ART
November Meteors is a color lithograph by Etienne Trouvelot relating his observations made one night in November of 1868. This piece was published as a part of Trouvelot's Astronomical Drawings set of 15 plates in 1882. Depicted here is the Leonids, a meteor show that occurs regularly in November. It draws its name for the constellation Leo, from which it is radiant.
